1. Commencement

1.1 The Employee’s employment shall commence on the date of signature below.

1.2 The employment will be subject to a probationary period of three (3) months, during which either party may terminate the employment by giving not less than one (1) week’s written notice.

1.3 During the seven (7)-day notice period, the Employee must attend and complete all allocated bookings and shifts unless unable to do so for a genuine medical reason. Any absence during this period must be supported by valid medical evidence, such as a doctor’s note or medical certificate. Failure to provide such proof may be considered unauthorised absence and a breach of contract, and will be subject to the terms outlined in Clause 16 relating to company losses.

2. Job Title & Duties

2.1 Title: As Per Above (Position)

2.2 The Employee shall diligently perform such cleaning duties as directed by the Employer, including (but not limited to) dusting, vacuuming, mopping, waste disposal, restroom cleaning, and replenishing supplies

.2.3 The Employee agrees to comply with the Employer’s policies and any reasonable instructions.

3. Place of Work

3.1 Primary location: Client premises.

3.2 The Employer may require the Employee to work at additional sites within 3 miles withing home proximity, giving reasonable notice.

4. Hours of Work

4.1 Normal hours: 

8 am–8 pm, Monday–Friday,

10am–8pm Saturday,

10 am–6 pm Sunday

4.2 Total contractual hours: Flexible Depending on Allocated Assignment

5. Pay & Benefits

5.1 Salary: starting £13.00 per hour, payable Weekly by bank transfer on Friday.

5.2 The Employee is entitled to unpaid sick leave.

5.3 Pension: The Employee will be enrolled into the Employer’s workplace pension scheme in accordance with auto-enrolment duties.

6. Holidays

6.1 Statutory entitlement: 5.6 weeks Unpaid Holiday.

6.2 Holiday must be booked in advance and approved by Esther Johnson, Hiring Manager.

6.3 Untaken holiday at year-end may be carried over only in exceptional circumstances.

7. Sickness Absence

7.1 The Employee must notify the Employer as soon as possible on the first day of absence.

7.2 Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) will be paid in accordance with current legislation.

8. Confidentiality & Data Protection

8.1 The Employee must not disclose any confidential information about the Employer’s business, clients or employees.

8.2 The Employee must comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR in handling personal data.

9. Health & Safety

9.1 The Employee must take reasonable care of health and safety and follow all Employer policies and training.

9.2 The Employer will provide necessary PPE and training.

10. Disciplinary & Grievance

10.1 The Employer’s disciplinary and grievance procedures shall apply.

11. Notice Period

11.1 After probation, either party may terminate the contract by providing:

  • Employee: 2 weeks written notice

  • Employer: 2 weeks written notice (or pay in lieu for bookings).

12. Termination Without Notice

12.1 The Employer may terminate without notice for gross misconduct.

13. Governing Law

13.1 This Agreement is governed by English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

14. Confidentiality of Pay and Terms

14.1 The Employee must not disclose, share, or discuss their rate of pay, payment terms, or any remuneration details with any client of Prograce Cleaners. Breach of this clause will be treated as gross misconduct and may result in immediate termination.

14.2The Employee agrees not to discuss or reveal any confidential terms of their engagement with Prograce Cleaners, including but not limited to job allocations, scheduling methods, or internal processes, with any third party or client.

14.3 The Employee agrees not to offer, promote, or provide any cleaning or related services to any client of Prograce Cleaners outside the scope of their employment contract. Doing so without written permission from the Company will constitute a breach of contract and may result in immediate termination and potential legal action.

15: Equipment Use and Care

15.1. All employees are responsible for ensuring that any equipment or cleaning tools provided by Prograce Cleaners are used with care and returned in the same condition they were issued.

15.2. If an employee prefers to use their own equipment, they must ensure it meets Prograce Cleaners’ standards and is safe for the intended cleaning tasks.

15.3. Any damage or loss of company equipment due to negligence may result in a deduction from the employee’s pay to cover replacement costs.

16. Company Losses Due to No-Shows

16.1 Employees are required to provide a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice if they are unable to attend a scheduled booking or appointment.

16.2 During the seven (7)-day notice period, the Employee must attend and complete all allocated bookings and shifts unless unable to do so for a genuine medical reason. Any absence during this period must be supported by valid medical evidence, such as a doctor’s note or medical certificate.

16.3 Failure to provide the required notice or valid medical evidence may result in the Employee being held responsible for any financial loss incurred by the Company due to missed or incomplete bookings.

16.4 Such losses may include deductions equivalent to the value of the lost booking hours from the Employee’s pay, or an invoice being issued for reimbursement where necessary.
